Withdrawals and Refunds

Any student who is withdrawing must submit a Student Withdrawal/Termination Form (available in the Adult Student Handbook or in the Adult secretary's office) and notify the school's administration to establish a reason for withdrawal.  The withdrawal form must be completed and signed by the student, acknowledged by their instructor, and approved by the financial aid consultant, student services coordinator, director, and adult secretary.  Refunds are made within 45 days of the last day of a student's attendance.  LPN students should refer specifically to their program for their withdrawal and refund policies.

Any refund in tuition and lab fees is prorated based on the date within the Enrollment Period of the withdrawal from the course.  For courses less than 700 hours in length, the Enrollment Period is the course length.  For courses of 700 hours or more, the Enrollment Period is 1/2 the length of the course. The $20.00 Registration fee and fees for textbooks and supplies are non-refundable.
  • If you withdraw prior to the first day of class, you will receive a refund of 100% of the tuition, lab, and application fees.
  • If you withdraw after the 1st day and within 5% of the enrollment period, you will receive a refund of 90% of the tuition and lab fees.
  • If you withdraw after 5% and within 20% of the enrollment period, you will receive a refund of 75% of the tuition and lab fees.
  • If you withdraw after 20% and within 30% of the enrollment period, you will receive a refund of 50% of the tuition and lab fees.
  • If you withdraw after 30% of the enrollment period, you will not receive any refund.

Title IV and financial aid funds will be recalculated for students who withdraw within a quarter and any unearned aid must be returned to the federal government.  Federal financial aid is not 100% earned until attendance has exceeded 60% of a quarter.  As a result of this recalculation, students may be responsible to pay tuition charges that were originally covered by such financial aid and they may also owe money directly to the grant program.
