Collision Repair Technology

The Collision Repair Technology program is designed for the beginner with an emphasis on renovation and reconstruction of exterior sheet metal automobile body parts for unibody and full-frame automobiles.  Students receive classroom instruction and hands-on experience restoring vehicles to pre-accident condition.  The course includes topics such as:
  • Safety
  • Hand and Power Tools
  • Estimating Repair Cost
  • Metal Straightening
  • GMAW (MIG) Welding
  • Plastic and Fiberglass Repair
  • Surface Preparation
  • Paint Problems and Cures
  • and more
The goal of this program is to train students for an entry-level position in the automotive industry.  High school students have first preference,but if space is available adult students are permitted into the program. Adult applicants must meet specific requirements for admission into this program and are responsible for Application and Registration fees (see Admissions).  For other costs for adults* entering this course, please see below.
 
Course Length and Meeting Times:
  • Day-time program, 5 days per week, 2 years, 1080 hours
  • First-year students: morning class
  • Second-year students: afternoon class
 
Costs:  For Adults
  • Tuition: $3,240.00*
  • Lab Fees: $700.00
  • Textbook and test fees are not applicable

* The 13th Year Tuition Waiver may be applied to this course for adults who qualify.
