Earn your High School Equivalency Diploma

West Virginia uses the TASC assessment to award the high school equivalency diploma.  The Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) covers 5 subject areas; Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.  A candidate must pass all 5 subjects to earn their high school credential. You can retake any subject you do not pass.

To qualify for the TASC, a student must pass all 5 subjects on the TRA. The TASC Readiness Assessment is similar to the TASC in design and content with fewer test items. You can retake any subject area on the TRA that you do not pass.  The TRA must be scheduled with our CCCTC AELC instructor.  You can call 304-528-5106 to schedule.   After you pass the TRA, you will be given information about registering for the TASC.

The TASC and TRA are now administered on-line. Our computer labs are certified testing centers.
Our state covers the cost for testing.  Students do not have to pay for these tests in West Virginia as they do in other states.

It is important to be present and on-time for any tests you are scheduled to take. You will not be admitted if late. Group size is limited and an empty seat could have gone to someone who had to wait for another testing session.
